Do you know what the temperature in Kolkata is today? 40 degrees. Yes, a freaking 40 degrees in April! I shudder to think what it will be like in May and June! Usually, it is quite humid here so I can get away without applying anything on my face but now, it is not only blazing hot but also quite dry. The skin feels parched and I do need to moisturize properly. I’ve been trying out the new Olay Total Effects Lightweight Moisturizer and I’m so glad this product launched just in time to save our skin from our famous Indian summer!
Product Description
Recent Olay consumer research has revealed that Indian skin is oiliest between 20s-30s and more prone to ageing. Women in this age-group who have tried anti-ageing day creams in the past have found them too heavy or greasy for their skin for day-time use. In response, Olay scientists have created a breakthrough innovation, NEW Olay Total Effects Lightweight Moisturizer – so anti-ageing skincare no longer has to weigh you down!
NEW Olay Total Effects Lightweight Moisturizer is non-greasy, fast-absorbing and non-comedogenic, allowing skin to breathe throughout the day. It also contains SPF15 protection from the sun’s damaging UV rays using Olay SolaSheer technology™ – that doesn’t leave a sticky layer so skin feels weightless.
Price: Rs. 799/- 50 gms & Rs. 375/- 20 gms
My Thoughts On The Product
It does what it claims to do. The cream has a slightly watery texture, is really lightweight and absorbs into the skin fast. It does not mattify the skin but does not make it oily or greasy either so if you have oily skin, you can use it too. And because of its texture, it does not block pores. One of my biggest issues with applying cream in summer is that it makes my face sweat a lot. I won’t say that this cream stops sweating but because of how lightweight it is, I don’t sweat like a pig! The cream moisturizes well and only a small amount is needed. It spreads well and I don’t need to reapply for atleast 6-7 hours. It has not lead to any skin irritation or breakouts.
Another advantage of the new Olay Total Effects Lightweight Moisturizer is that it contains SPF 15 so there is the added benefit of getting a sunscreen with a moisturizer. The cream claims to have anti-ageing properties as well but that effect I’ll only get to know after using it for a substantial amount of time. Overall, I’m happy with the new Olay Total Effects Lightweight Moisturizer and you can try it out if you are looking for a light day cream for summer.
