The Body Shop has added two new products to their Drops of Light range. One is a Multi-protection Essence with SPF 50 and the other is a Liquid Peel. I have both products and have been using them for the last couple of weeks. In this post, I will share my thoughts on the The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel.

Liquid peels are an extremely important product used in Korean skincare and I have tried a few earlier. What a liquid peel does is gently exfoliate impurities, dry patches, dead skin cells and any residue that a normal cleanser leaves behind. To use the product, you will need to apply two pumps of the gel to cleansed, dry skin and then massage it in for about a minute or so. Soon you will see the dead skin forming clumps. Don’t worry, your skin is not peeling off. It’s just the dirt, grime and dead cells that are coming off. After you are done, either rinse your face or use a wet wash cloth to remove the residue. I prefer using a wash cloth because the residue is slightly sticky and therefore easier to wipe off.
While a face scrub as well as a liquid peel does the same thing i.e exfoliate the skin, I prefer using a liquid peel simply because it is gentler on my skin and in a weird way, it is kinda satisfying to see all that gunk come off. A liquid peel can be used by anyone irrespective of whether you have dry or oily skin. If you have dry skin, it will remove dead skin and dry patches and if you have oily skin, it will help in reducing excess oil which can lead to breakouts. Plus, clean skin means that other skincare products will get absorbed easily and will also help makeup to glide on better. It gives really soft, supple and brighter looking skin and who does not want that?
The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel is a great addition to my skincare routine and I make it a point to use it couple of times in a week. It is priced quite high but then again, you only need a small amount so the bottle will last at least two months. Plus, if you get clean, bright skin from just this one product, you don’t need to visit a salon/spa for facial treatments and you save money.
Have you tried a liquid peel? Do you think it works better than a normal face scrub? Do share your thoughts in the comments below.
