I really enjoyed using The Body Shop Oils of Life Facial Oil because of how light it was and how well it kept my skin hydrated. After using the oil, I was keen to try out other products from the Oils of Life range so I picked up the Sleeping Cream (Rs 2495) and the Eye Cream Gel (Rs 2395). If you want to know if the products work for me or not, read on for the review.
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream
I used the Sleeping Cream extensively when I was in Sheffield earlier this month. It was really cold there and my skin needed a lot of hydration. During the day, I used a facial oil and at night, it was the Sleeping Cream.
Description
“A night cream to moisturise, revitalise and nourish the skin whilst you sleep. Indulge in a holistic sensorial experience, specifically formulated to be applied on the face but also on the neck and decollete. This fresh, jellified yet cushiony and ultra-nourishing cream effortlessly melts onto the skin, leaving a light and comfortable finish and no sticky residue.”
Review
Don’t get too curious about the name Sleeping Cream because in essence, it is a regular night cream but what is different about this is the texture. Usually, night creams are thick and quite rich but this one has a soft, jelly like texture, almost like a face mask. The product comes in a heavy glass jar with a black screw-on lid. Not the most convenient packaging for travel but I like glass jars. They look and feel quite luxurious.
The cream is said to be enriched with 3 precious seed oils – anti-oxidant rich Black Cumin Oil, Rosehip Oil, rich in Omega 3 and 6, and Camellia Oil, rich in nutritive oleic acid. All these ingredients are fabulous especially for dry skin. I love that the cream is so lightweight and absorbs into the skin very fast. It smells really nice because of all the ingredients and just after applying, there is a slight tingling sensation which subsides after a few seconds. The light texture feels very nice and in the morning, you wake up to plumped up and hydrated skin.
I have used the product in 0 degrees and I am continuing using it now in 38 degrees and the effect is the same. It does not feel sticky and moisturises the skin very well. It is an expensive product but it works and you only need a small amount. If you are looking for a night cream this summer, The Body Shop Oils of Life Sleeping Cream can be a good option.
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream Gel
The Eye Cream Gel joined the Oils of Life family late last year I think. I have been using it recently both as an eye cream and an eye mask. As an eye cream, I gently pat it around the eye contour and as an eye mask, I apply a slightly thicker layer once a week under the eyes for about 5-10 minutes and then dab away the excess.

Description
“By infusing three precious seed oils known for their revitalising and repairing properties into an ultra-light and airy smoothing texture, we created the Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel to revitalise the eye contour and visibly reduce signs of ageing“.
Review
The cream is formulated with the same precious seed oils as the Sleeping Cream and it is an everyday eye cream. Along with the oils, the cream also contains caffeine which helps to reduce puffiness and other ingredients that help to brighten the eye area and reduce signs of aging.
If you see closely, you can make out that the cream has some golden shimmer in it. Maybe they wanted to make the eye area sparkle because that’s what it does. I would have preferred it without the shimmer.
The texture of the cream is a thick, creamy gel so I use it only at night. It takes a very small amount to cover the entire eye area so this jar is definitely going to last me for sometime. The cream absorbs quite easily and hydrates the eye area quite well. My biggest problem is puffy eyes when I wake up and I’ve seen a slight improvement after I started using the cream. Yet to see a noticeable difference in my dark circles but I guess that will take time to reduce. I’ve also noticed that my eye area has started to look a lot brighter so definitely a thumbs up for that.
Overall, if you are looking for a softening, and brightening treatment for your eyes, The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel is worth trying out.
