Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick is one of my favourite matte lipstick formulas. In terms of pigmentation, texture, staying power, that range is absolutely brilliant. When she launched her range of liquid lipsticks late last year, I was obviously excited. A few days back, after much deliberation because all the colours looked so gorgeous, I finally settled for Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick Screen Siren. It is a classic rich, ruby red with cool, blue undertones and a red that will work on every skin tone.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick Screen Siren Review
Packaging
The packaging is fancy like all of her products. It is gold and the case is transparent so you can make out the colour in an instant. When you take this lipstick out from the bag, it sure gives you a very ‘posh’ feel.
The applicator is supposed to be a very unique feature of this range. It is a specially designed ‘Lip Hug’ applicator that has a wide part to cover the lower lip, mimicking the natural shape, and a thinner part with a steep angle to precisely define the upper lip. Honestly speaking, I did not find anything special about it. In fact, the steepness makes it difficult to apply the product evenly on the lips.
It has a sweet, vanilla scent that I quite like.
Formula
The texture of the liquid lipstick is mousse-like. It feels quite velvety and smooth while applying and the colour spreads comfortably on the lips. Pigmentation is very good and one swipe gives opaque, even coverage.
These lipsticks are semi-matte so they do not set in 100%. If you are eating or drinking the first couple of hours after applying the lipstick then be prepared to leave your mark everywhere. The formula is actually quite similar to a traditional creamy, semi-matte bullet lipstick than the typical matte liquid lipstick that we are so used to now.
In terms of staying power, because of the formula, it does not last long on me. Maximum three hours but throughout that time, the lipstick feels very comfortable on the lips. No dryness at all.
Overview
At £24.00, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick Screen Siren is expensive. But is it really that special? That actually depends on whether you like the semi-matte formula or not. I’ve been getting attracted towards the more traditional lipstick formulas lately so I don’t mind but will I spend another £24.00 to buy one more shade? No. I love the colour of Screen Siren and the comfortable non-drying formula but the fact that it transfers so much and that it is not long-lasting is a big deal breaker. I’d rather spend my money on her Matte Revolution lipsticks.
