The inspiration behind this look is the awesome Lisa Eldridge. Last night, I was watching her do the same look in a video on the Lancome Youtube channel and I instantly wanted to recreate it. The classic Parisian look is all about fresh and luminous skin and a bold red lip. Even though this is the image that we all associate Parisian women with, in reality, they hardly wear makeup and that is what really surprised me when I was in the city last year. I mean the country is the hub of fashion and makeup trends but on the streets, I rarely saw anyone with lipstick or eye makeup on. I think I was the only one wearing makeup wherever we went!
So getting back to the look, it is extremely easy. No eye shadow, no liner nothing. Just bright skin and red lips. These are the products I used.
- Bourjois Happy Light foundation in Rose Beige (use a light to medium coverage foundation. It should look natural and not made up)
- MAC Studio Fix powder foundation NC 43.5
- Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Concealer in Medium
- Essence Ticket to Paradise Shimmer Powder
- Essence Blush Up in Heat Wave
- Heavy Rotation Mega Volume Mascara (this is from a Korean brand that I can’t remember)
- Zoeva 103 Defined Buffer Brush
- MAC Trust in Red Pro Longwear Lip Pencil
- Rouge Baiser lipstick L’Authentique.
Steps :
- Apply foundation with the buffer brush and then apply concealer on areas where you need extra coverage
- Set everything with powder
- Dust a bit of blush on the apples of the cheeks
- I’ve used the shimmer powder all over the lids to give that extra glow. You can skip this step and leave your eyes bare
- Next, apply 2-3 coats of mascara
- Line lips with the red lipliner and then fill them in with lipstick. You can use any bright red.
And this is the finished look. Simple, easy and a classic. Do let me know what you think of it in the comments below 🙂

I too was surprised at how little makeup they wear. But how much mascara!! I really like the way you’ve simplified this look 🙂
