I have normal to dry skin so the problem of breakouts and pimples have really not troubled me a lot (touchwood!) but nearly a month back, I was plagued by a few pimples on my cheeks that irritated me like anything. I tried a few products, nothing worked and the stupid things were growing bigger by the day. I actually had an appointment at Kaya’s Salt Lake City Centre 1 clinic for a different facial but the Dr took a look and advised me to try out one of their signature facials – Purepore Clean Skin to cleanse, purify and soothe my skin. While I was desperate to do something about the pimples, I never really thought that one facial would work so well. Believe me, the pimples reduced in size in a week and after a couple of weeks they were pretty much gone. And I did not use any skincare product except my usual cleanser, toner and moisturizer after the facial.
The Kaya Purepore Clear Skin is designed to “Target & Care”, the cause for oily and acne prone skin to give facial benefits. It works on acne-prone skin by dealing with the problem at its core – targeting bacteria that reside in skin pores. The facial is administered through an effective skincare process where the facial skin is purified off toxins, conditioned & moisturized to calm and soothe.
The duration of the facial is around 90 mins, there is no massage involved ( I missed the massage but since the facial targets pimples, a massage can aggravate them hence it is not included) and three types of face masks are applied at various stages. They use marine products for the facial.
- Cleanse: Anti-oxidant synergistic tea blend soothes inflamed skin
- Target: A special serum is massaged into skin to prep skin for extractions
- Desincrustation Mask: It is applied to the face and neck, followed by a careful extraction process
- Tones: Salicylic acid helps control excess oil and unclogs pores. Synergistic tea blend and powerful anti-oxidant formula soothes and calms the skin
- Sea Mud Mask: It does deep pore cleansing & the mineral-rich sea mud & ichtammol absorb oil without drying out the skin, preventing future breakouts
- Calming Mask: Containing both Buttermilk and a calming synergistic Tea Blend cools and soothes skin
- Hydration: Porphyridium Complex (micro alga) helps control excess oil and shine while reducing dryness and flakiness. Zinc Oxide provides daily protection, while matting the skin and reducing redness
A Kaya experience has always been wonderful and this one was no different. Thanks to the Dr who advised me to try out Purepore and to the therapist who carried out the service so well. The after effect has been excellent like I mentioned earlier. Immediately after the facial, my skin did look radiant and I could see the redness in the pimples going down slightly. After a week, the size of the pimples reduced by about a half and there were no further breakouts. After three weeks, one has completely disappeared and there is a very tiny red bump in place of a pretty huge one. I’ve not used any special acne control cream or tea tree oil etc after the facial and just went with my regular cleansing, toning and moisturising routine.
To the left is a picture before the facial, next one is after a week and the last one is how my face looks right now.
For me, the service was complimentary but that’s not the reason why I’m praising it so much. I’ve seen a difference and I want you to experience it as well. Obviously, you will need to check with the resident dermatologist first. The facial is priced at approx Rs 4000 but do confirm with the clinic.
If you have severe acne, I would however suggest you go for the new Tri-Active Acne Treatment with Black Peel. It is a 30 mins service and combines the goodness of black peel along with a targeted approach to treat acne. The treatment effectively addresses acne through a natural organic peel – Black Peel, which has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. For more information on the service, contact a Kaya skin clinic near you.
