Undoubtedly, the biggest makeup launch of 2017 has been that of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty. The permanent collection encompasses a foundation with a 40-shade range, one primer, two makeup brushes, three portable makeup brushes, one makeup sponge, one matte powder, ten shimmering highlighting sticks, 20 shades of matte contouring sticks, six powder highlighters, blotting paper, and one lip gloss. I was very tempted to get a Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation but with 40 shades on offer with no chance of me seeing them live, I played safe and got a Shimmer Skinstick in the shade Sinamon.
Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick Sinamon
Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick ($25) is a cream formula that can be used as a highlight or blush and is available in 10 shades. It is a magnetized makeup stick and the formula is supposed to be long-wearing with a “light-as-air,” “blendable” texture that “lives to be layered.”
The magnetised packaging is cool no doubt and it will be a big help if you have more than one match stix/shimmer skinstick because they will stick to one another. I kinda expected Rihanna’s makeup line to look more funky and colorful and reflect her style. I can’t really say that Fenty Beauty products have the most beautiful packaging. Convenient and minimalistic, yes, but pretty and attractive, no.
The skinstick twists-up and is medium-sized with a domed head. Sinamon is a beautiful cinnamon-bronze color that will go very well especially on medium to dusky skin tones. It adds a nice, subtle metallic warmth to the face and can be used as an eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, bronzer or even lipstick or lip topper.
It has a thin texture and the cream changes more to a powder finish once on the skin. It gives a sheer finish than bang on opaque pigmentation so true to its description, Sinamon ‘lives to be layered’. I like that because it gives you control over how much you want to apply. I prefer going for the light wash of color look. The shade stays around 4-5 hours on me.
If you have a medium-dusky skin tone, Sinamon is a beautiful shade and you can do so much with it. I like that they kept the price affordable so quite a good buy for $25.
