Kaya has recently ventured into the hair care category by launching two new services. Kaya Targeted Root Regen System comprises of specialized dermatological services such as Intensive Hair Root Therapy, Hair Nutri-Infusion Therapy etc that target concerns such as hair fall and hair thinning. The Kaya Hair Health Boost System comprises of customised therapies such as Kaya Scalp Purify and Balance Therapy, Kaya Scalp Exfoliate and Revitalize Therapy, Kaya Ultimate 360° Hair Elixir Therapy etc designed to address other concerns such as dandruff and under-nourished hair. Since I have dry hair that has become even drier in winter, I decided to try out the Kaya Ultimate 360° Hair Elixir Therapy.

I went for the session at the Kaya Salt Lake City Centre outlet as I always do. I was in two minds whether I should go for the Hair Revive and Fortify Therapy or the 360° Hair Elixir Therapy. I was asked what my hair concerns are and when I said dryness, frizz and slight hairfall, I was recommended the Hair Elixir Therapy.
These services are designed by dermatologists and therefore different from the usual hair spas at the salon. Do not expect a full on pampering session with a 20 min head massage and steam etc. Here, the service is more clinical. It started off with the application of a deep nourishing oil to the scalp followed by a 7-8 min massage concentrating on the crown area. The hair was then washed off with shampoo and a concentrate that contains black pepper extract applied to the scalp. Why black pepper? Because it works to promote hair growth, remove dandruff and give shiny, strong hair. The next step was the application of a conditioner to the scalp, a light head massage followed by a back massage with an electronic massager. The hair was then rinsed with water and cold dried. Next, an anti-frizz serum was applied to the lengths of the hair and half blow dried. The final step was the application of the serum once again to the slightly damp hair. I was advised not to shampoo for at least a day.
Immediately after the service, my hair felt very soft and smooth. Once it dried completely, the ends did not feel dry, there were no knots and tangles and it generally looked a lot healthier. To maintain the effect of the service, I was also given a post-treatment kit which contains a hair massager along with the Kaya Nourishing Shampoo which has extracts of hibiscus and almond oil. I’ve only been using that shampoo and I love how mild it is and how well it keeps my hair moisturized and adds shine. I have also noticed less hair fall since I’ve had the therapy.
I’ve always been a big fan of Kaya treatments and would definitely recommend the new Ultimate 360° Hair Elixir Therapy if you have dry hair. You can see visible results after one session but if you have serious hair concerns, going in for a package will be more effective. For more details, contact a Kaya outlet or their website.
