I, for one, have been a Lakme CC Cream loyalist from the last year or so, and found it to be more effective than the contemporaries flooding the market. I would normally use it with a tiny blob of moisturizer (read MAC Strobe Cream), and it would instantly perk my face up, give it a natural sheen without going dry or patchy. That was then. Now, with the launch of the new variant of the Lakme CC cream, the Lakme 9To5 CC Color Transform Cream and the very lucrative color transforming element added to it, I couldn’t wait to try it and figure out what more it has to offer .
Lakme 9To5 CC Color Transform Cream Description
Tired of using a bunch of different products every day to get that perfect look, what if you could have your fairness cream, moisturizer, sunscreen and concealer all in one seamless CC cream. It’s time to toss the clutter aside and make way for first colour changing CC cream from the house of Lakme.. Lakme’s first advanced fairness cream that changes color as you blend, to give a make-up finish. Instantly brightens, conceals, evens skin tone and moisturizes, freshens and protects. This color changing cream starts like a fairness cream and finishes like make-up to give you skin that looks styled by an expert , everyday.
Starting from the basics, it comes in a very similar tube packaging like the previous version, nothing fancy in that . Priced at INR 325 for 30 gm, I would say it is not exactly a cheap offering.
Coming to the texture, it is a white cream with tiny black beads in it but those do not irk the skin in any way. These ‘color changing beads’ bring out the beige and bronze color once the cream is applied to the skin and blended.
I tested the beige and bronze options. On my skin tone (NC 44.5), the beige variant failed to create any kind of magic, perhaps it would for lighter tones. The bronze variant fared better. The cream settled down pretty quickly on the skin and the best part was that it did not leave a white cast on the face as that is quite a turn-off for me.
The cream brightened my face to some extent, took off the tiredness left over from the last day, and imparted some radiance. To add to that, I have dry to very dry skin type and thankfully, it did not get patchy. However, the cream did not cover up my dark spots or conceal pigmentation near my chin area. It comes with SPF 30 PA+++, which is great to cope up with the sultry heat in Kolkata.
The Lakme 9To5 CC Color Transform Cream can be worth using on a day to day basis when mild coverage and brightening is what we are looking for. Perhaps, that is how I look forward to using this product. But for times extra coverage and color correction is the demand, this might not be the product to go to. With the claims of color correcting properties and instant radiance, my heart still would be a little partial towards the predecessor variant over this one.
