I was in Delhi early this month for the launch of two new smartphones from the LeEco stable – the Le 2 and the Le Max2. At the grand event, I got to experience both smart phones first hand and was very impressed by the specs, the look and feel and the quality. The company shared a review unit of the Le 2 to try out before the official launch and in this post, I will share with my first impressions of the new smartphone.
Just an FYI, LeEco sold over 60K smartphones (Le 2 and Le Max2) in their first flash sale this week and they’ve announced that registrations are open for the second flash sale to be held on July 5 th. Meanwhile, let’s get to the unboxing and first look.

Box Contents

The contents inside the box are standard but there are a few differences with smartphones from other brands. The Le 2 comes with a transparent silicon protective back cover so you don’t have to buy one separately. Also, earphones are not included in the box but you will get them free of cost when you buy a Le 2 during the flash sales. These earphones are based on the state of the art CDLA technology that delivers powerful lossless music, a true breakthrough technology. Lastly, the standard 3.5 mm headset jack is missing and the CDLA headphones use the USB Type – C port to connect to the phone.
First Impression
This phone looks really good! It has a light, rose gold full – metal body with rounded edges and a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 X 1082 pixels that displays bright images in true colors. The screen covers nearly 70% of the front panel and the dual SIM card slot, power and volume keys are placed on either sides of the phone. At the bottom is the primary microphone, loudspeaker and the USB Type-C port. The phone also has a fingerprint scanner at the back, below the rear camera.
The 16 MP rear camera captures sharp images and the clarity is excellent. The front camera lowers the details slightly but it still is quite good and therefore perfect for clicking those selfies :D. The Le 2 has a 3000 mAh battery and fast charging makes topping it up easy. I am a very heavy internet user and practically live on the phone all day. I will report on the battery performance after testing it thoroughly.
My first impression of the new LeEco Le 2 is that it is a solid phone with good looks, impressive display and good performance. However, I will reserve my final verdict till I thoroughly test the phone, so look out for the detailed review.
The second flash sale of both Le 2 and Le Max2 is on 5th July so register now by clicking on the links.
P.S – The phone is provided by the brand for review purpose but the views are my own.
