The heat, terrible humidity and of course the constant coloring of hair has made it quite frizzy and dry. I was looking to get a hair treatment done when Moroccanoil got in touch and asked if I wanted to try out the new Smoothing Treatment using products from the Smoothing Range. I was told that the treatment is meant for dry, unruly and frizzy hair and my hair fit the bill perfectly.
In Kolkata, you can get Moroccanoil products and treatments in quite a few salons but the one chosen for me was Bridgette Jones Fashion Salon. The process started off with the expert giving an overview of the new Smoothing Range, enriched with AminoRenew which restores amino acids into frizzy, unruly hair resulting in more manageable hair with a smooth appearance. She also analysed my hair and rightfully said that I have very dry ends and therefore the treatment would be quite beneficial. The following products were used :
- Moroccanoil Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner ( Rs 1800) – AminoRenew ingredient aligns hair’s keratin structure. Smoothes hair from the inside out. Color-safe, sulfate, phosphate and paraben-free.
- Moroccanoil Treatment ( Rs 1800) – The essential foundation for all hair types. A versatile styler that can be used for conditioning, styling and finishing. Fast-absorbing, antioxidant argan oil-infused formula transforms hair to become shiny, smooth and manageable. Speeds up drying time.
- Moroccanoil Smoothing Mask ( Rs 2790) – Concentrated argan butter formula. Intensely conditions to set the stage for smooth styling. Improves elasticity.
Moroccanoil Smoothing Treatment Process:
- My hair was first washed with the Smoothing Shampoo and towel dried. She then applied a few drops of the Moroccanoil Treatment all over my hair
- The next step was to apply the Smoothing Mask. Into the Mask, she added some Moroccanoil Treatment and applied the thick mixture to my hair
- The third step was the massage and it was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep. And it was not just a scalp massage but she also massaged my back, neck, shoulder and arms for nearly 30 mins
- Since I have dry hair, steam was not applied. Instead, my head was wrapped in a hot towel for five minutes to ensure the product gets into the roots
- My hair was then thoroughly rinsed only with water, towel dried and the Moroccanoil Treatment was applied once again
- The final step was a blow dry.
Here is a picture of my hair after the treatment and you can see how healthy and shiny it looks. The frizz is gone and it felt so soft and smooth. It has been a week since I got the treatment done and I’ve obviously shampooed my hair many times since then but the effect is still there. It is not as unruly and dry as it was earlier so I’ve definitely seen good results. The treatment is slightly expensive and for hair of my length, be prepared to pay around Rs 3000 but it is definitely worth it!
Thank you Moroccanoil and Bridgette Jones Fashion Salon for the lovely experience.
