The shine of a lip gloss. The pigmentation of a liquid lipstick. This is in a nutshell the description of the new Oriflame The ONE Lip Sensation Vinyl Gel range. Available in seven bright colors that are perfect for summer, these lip products are priced at Rs 699 (you can get them for Rs 489 this month).
Oriflame The ONE Lip Sensation Vinyl Gel Description
Super-light liquid lipstick goes on like a gel, with an ultra-smooth plexigloss finish in 7 intense shades. Non-sticky, extreme colour coverage. Glides on easily for super-slick lips with perfect colour clarity. Conditioning formula keeps lips feeling soft. A definite head-turner.
Shades Available :
Tangerine Tango – A pastel peach with a hint of coral.
Sunset Burst – Red with coral undertones
Hot Flamingo – Bright Barbie pink
Malibu Blush – Bright neon pink with a hint of coral
Pink Mambo – Bright pink with a hint of red. Similar to MAC’s Impassioned lipstick
Magnetic Magenta – The name is quite deceiving because this color is actually a bright pink with purple undertones
Purple Rumba – Remember the blue purple shade that Aishwarya Rai wore last year to Cannes? Purple Rumba is a glossy version of that
Review
The packaging is quite simple. Plastic transparent tubes with a silver cap. The applicator is a short and stocky one with a flat tip. I would have preferred a pointed tip because it is very important to get a precise application when you are wearing gloss but this one does not do too bad either. All of them have a mild fruity smell which is quite pleasant.
I really like the texture of these Vinyl Gels. They go on really smooth, they do not feel heavy on the lips, they do not dry out the lips and most importantly, they are not sticky. I am not too fond of very shiny lip products so I like that these give moderate shine that makes the lips appear slightly fuller.
Pigmentation is quite good as well. If you want to go for a sheer look, one swipe should be good enough. If you want more coverage, 2-3 swipes should do the job. Tangerine Tango is the only one I have a problem with. It goes on very streaky plus the color is also not very flattering on medium to dark complexions. The color selection of the shades should have been wider and Oriflame could have included some browns, chocolates, oranges and n*de shades. They have primarily focused on pinks and purples and some of the shades are quite similar to each other. Hopefully, they will add more variety to the range later.
The packaging, texture, pigmentation, finish, everything is good except staying power. These do not last for more than a couple of hours and if you are eating and drinking, the color goes away faster. But again, these are glossy liquid lipsticks and glosses do not last long.
A good launch by Oriflame especially for summer. If you are fond of lip glosses, bright colors and prefer to stay away from matte lipsticks, this range is perfect for you.
Have you tried any shade from the Oriflame The ONE Lip Sensation Vinyl Gel range?
