I’ve been a Paris Café fan ever since Sneha Singhi opened the first outlet opposite Ice Skating Rink in Kolkata. The charming decor, the Parisian vibe and of course the wonderful food and beautiful desserts keep bringing me back to the place again and again. I recently visited the latest Paris Café outlet in Alipore for dinner with twenty of my foodie friends from Kolkata Food Fanatics and it was a wonderful experience.
The Alipore Paris Café is located opposite State Bank of India and while the place is not as big as the Salt Lake Sec V outlet, the menu has a lot to offer. We started off with mocktails like the Watermelon Green Apple Freezer , Ginger Lemon Honey Iced Tea , Mango Mojito and Lemon Iced Tea. All of them were great but my favorite was the Mango Mojito. It was refreshing, tangy and not too sweet. Exactly how I prefer my mojito.
Sneha rustled up a great meal for us starting with starters like Involtini de fungi, Skinny potato fries with truffle oil and parmesan, Chicken Croquettes and the super duper hit of the evening – Butterfly Prawns with Chili Rocket Salad. I think I ate around 20 pieces of those prawns because they were so good! And paired with the Chili Rocket Salad, this dish was by far my favorite out of all the starters.
Since I had to leave early, I could not taste all the mains that were served but I did taste the Grilled Bhetki with Cous Cous and I loved it! The fish was fresh, beautifully cooked and with the cous cous, tasted wonderful. Desserts were a wonderful selection of favorites like Creme Brûlée, Red Velvet Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Chocolate Dome, Saffron Panna cotta and Macarons. Definitely try the Salted Caramel Chocolate Dome when you go to Paris Café next because that dessert is to die for! Thanks Sneha and everyone at Paris Café for such a lovely experience.
