Sugar Cosmetics is soon becoming one of my favorite brands for eyeliners, kajals and kohls. I’ve already reviewed their Twist & Shout Fadeproof Kajal in the shade Black Velvet and Eye Told You So Waterproof Eyeliner and if you have read the review, you will know how impressive these two products are. They are now out with two new products – Stroke of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl in Back To Black and Twist & Shout Fadeproof Kajal in the shade Still Got The Blues.
Stroke of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl in Back To Black –
Eye makeup can be tricky but a stroke of genius can put you at ease. Add to that intense black colour and soft creamy texture and you know you’ve been hooked for life. We’re on about SUGAR Stroke of Genius Heavy-Duty Kohl – a waterproof Kohl pencil that can add pretty to your eyes in a single swipe. Its wax-based formula spreads evenly and lasts for up to 8 hours. Not just that, it comes with a free sharpener to ensure your eye makeup is always on point. It is free of mineral oil, paraffin, preservatives, volatile cyclomethicones (D4, D5, D6) and animal derived ingredients
Price – Rs 499
What I Think Of The Product – This is an excellent kohl pencil! It is an intense jet black color and has a super creamy texture which just glides on the lids. Because of how soft and creamy this is, you can not only use it to line your lids and waterline, it also makes for a very good eye shadow base if you are going for dark smokey eyes. On the lids, the kohl lasts for nearly 8-9 hours without fading or smudging. On my waterline, it lasts for around 4-5 hours. My only issue with the kohl is that it is not a twist up pencil which means there is product loss while sharpening. If I pay nearly Rs 500 for a kohl, I would hate to see any loss of product.
FOTD – I’ve done a very simple black smokey eye with the kohl. I first used it as a base and then applied black eyeshadow on top to intensify the color. Applied a dark brown in the crease, mascara and then lined the lids and waterline with the kohl again. On my lips, I have applied MAC’s Vamplify Gloss in the shade Hyper Fabulous.
Twist & Shout Fadeproof Kajal Still Got The Blues
Let your eyes do all the talking with SUGAR Twist And Shout Fadeproof Kajal! Just twist the easy applicator and rim your eyes with its intense formula and you’re good to take on the world. With a specially-designed anti-slip grip gives you a super-steady hold, its creamy consistency & preservatives-free formula makes it suitable for the waterline as well as the lash line. This high-performance multi-use product combines the benefits of a kajal with those of a gel eyeliner and does not fade or smear for more than 10 hours! It is free of mineral oil, preservatives, paraffin & parabens. Does not require an additional sharpener
Price – Rs 399
What I Think Of The Product – Still Got The Blues is a beautiful dark blue with a subtle pearl finish. The pigmentation is again excellent and the formula is quite creamy. Thankfully, this has a twist up mechanism so no need to sharpen the pencil. The kajal stays put without smudging, fading or smearing for nearly 9-10 hours on the lids and around 5-6 hours on the waterline. I was hoping Sugar would come out with more colors in this kajal and I’m glad they choose a beautiful blue. Waiting for some more to follow!
FOTD – In this look, I’ve gone for blue and gold eyes. I applied a gold eyeshadow on the lids, a dark brown in the crease and lined the lids and waterline with Still Got The Blues kajal. I’ve worn ColourPop Naked Ladies liquid lipstick on my lips.
