I can’t keep calm because Durga Pujo is here! In fact, I’m already done with one night of pandal hopping and looking forward to more over the next few days. If you are not from Kolkata or if you’ve never experienced Pujo here, it is kinda hard to explain what this festival means to us Bengalis. It is five days of celebration, adda, ‘notun jama pora’, ‘thakur dekha’, ‘khawa’ and ‘moja kora’. Sleep takes a back-seat and food is on top of the agenda. Everyone wants to look their best during Pujo and I am no different. I visited the Kama Ayurveda store in Quest Mall recently to ask for advice on what products I should use for my combination skin to make it glow this Pujo. Read on to find out what I was prescribed and my skincare routine.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream design just got revamped with a touch of Eley Kishimoto. The wife and husband duo’s designs have graced the catwalks of legendary designers like Louis Vitton, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen. Now, the ‘patron saints of print’ have restyled one of The Body Shop’s most iconic products. The playful print, in pink, blue and red is all about the letter “E”, as well as the chemical structure of the vitamin E molecule. The limited edition Vitamin E Moisture Cream is priced at Rs 1595 (100 g). Along with the cream, there is a limited edition pouch in the same Eley Kishimoto print available as well. That is priced at Rs 595 but you can get it free if you shop for Rs 3000 and above. Read on to know more about the cream and the Vitamin E range.
Recently I got introduced to the brand Geelee Mitti started by an entrepreneur from Kolkata, Sonia Kapur. I met Sonia last month and we got talking about beauty and wellness, her inspiration to start Geelee Mitti and of course her products. Sonia is a firm believer in the properties of essential oils and the fact that natural ingredients work best on the skin and hair. This led her to experiment with various herbs and flowers and come up with a collection of pure, therapeutic essential oils.
About Geelee Mitti
Our products target specific skin concerns and are beneficial for physical and emotional well-being too. The products are not tested on animals, are chemical free, made with ingredients sourced from organic farms and do not have artificial fragrance.

We love to do a lot of things to our hair. We love to experiment with colors, chemical treatments, hair styling products etc. While all of this no doubt makes us look good, the fact of the matter is that our hair suffers in the process. Keratin which is the essential component of our hair tends to deplete over time due to age and also due to these chemical services. And that gives rise to all our hair related woes. Dryness, frizz, lack of shine, brittle hair etc etc. How do you get this keratin or protein back to your hair? Through a Keratin Hair Treatment and that is what I received a few days back thanks to GKhair.
GKhair is a manufacturer of salon professional hair care products and keratin hair treatments and they have been doing this for the last 10 years. This year is the 10th anniversary of the brand and to celebrate, they organised a ‘Keratin Day’ at Head Turners Salon & Spa in Kolkata last week. I met the GKhair team that day, got to know about keratin, how the treatment works on the hair, what are the do’s and don’ts after the treatment, etc. Here’s a guide to help you out.
