Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that MAC Cosmetics is finally available at Nykaa. The concerns I had after hearing the news was whether 1) the prices would be the same as in the stores and 2) if they would have the same collection and not a capsule one. I am happy to say yes to both and in fact, online they are actually launching products that have not hit the stores yet. I am talking about the twelve new MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick shades that are part of the Spring 2017 collection. These are as of now only available at Nykaa and I picked up two of them – Topped With Brandy and Chocotease. The liquid lipsticks are priced at Rs 1850 each.
For anyone with dry skin, The Body Shop Vitamin E range of products is probably one of the best out there and I’ve been a big fan of the Vitamin E Moisture Cream. What is great is that the products now have a new and improved formula with the moisture power of 100% natural origin hyaluronic acid, in addition to the antioxidising power of wheatgerm oil to give a minimum of 48 hr hydration. The recent addition to this range is The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture-Protect Emulsion and that is what I will review in this post.
About The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture-Protect Emulsion
This lightweight milky Moisture-Protect Emulsion SPF 30 PA+++ will leave your skin moisturized, soft and protected , without leaving white marks. It even works effectively under make-up. Its UVA and UVB protection is boosted with biofermented hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture over 48 hours.
Price – Rs 1495 for 50 ml
The iconic designer Sabyasachi and the iconic beauty brand Lakmé has come together once again to create Illuminate 2.0, a range designed to create looks that celebrate the glamour of shimmer. This range is all about luminous make up and includes the Illuminating Foundation, 4 new metallic shades of the Shine Line, the Sun-Kissed Bronzer, Moon-Lit Highlighter and Illuminating Shimmer Bricks. I was sent some of the products from this range to try out and in this post, will finally share my thoughts on the new Lakmé Absolute Illuminate Range.
I, for one, have been a Lakme CC Cream loyalist from the last year or so, and found it to be more effective than the contemporaries flooding the market. I would normally use it with a tiny blob of moisturizer (read MAC Strobe Cream), and it would instantly perk my face up, give it a natural sheen without going dry or patchy. That was then. Now, with the launch of the new variant of the Lakme CC cream, the Lakme 9To5 CC Color Transform Cream and the very lucrative color transforming element added to it, I couldn’t wait to try it and figure out what more it has to offer .
Lakme 9To5 CC Color Transform Cream Description
Tired of using a bunch of different products every day to get that perfect look, what if you could have your fairness cream, moisturizer, sunscreen and concealer all in one seamless CC cream. It’s time to toss the clutter aside and make way for first colour changing CC cream from the house of Lakme.. Lakme’s first advanced fairness cream that changes color as you blend, to give a make-up finish. Instantly brightens, conceals, evens skin tone and moisturizes, freshens and protects. This color changing cream starts like a fairness cream and finishes like make-up to give you skin that looks styled by an expert , everyday.
Kolkata is gearing up to welcome the Goddess in all her glory. The hoardings are up, pandals have started to make an appearance, people are rushing to finish their puja shopping and in general, there is chaos in the city. This chaos we all eagerly look forward to every year and I’m just counting days like every Bengali, whether in Kolkata or outside, for the Goddess to arrive. I’m sure you all are busy figuring out what outfit and makeup you will wear during those five days and to make matters slightly easy, I’m here with a Day To Evening Makeup Look option for you.
If you have been a regular visitor to the MAC stores in Kolkata, I’m sure you have come across Druna and Prajwal, both very good makeup artists. Druna is now branching out on her own and she shared two looks for Durga Puja especially for the readers of Pout Pretty on model Manju.
Day Makeup Look By Druna
Considering the climate, this time it will be quite hot and humid during the Pujas so heavy makeup is out of question. Go for light makeup during the day. Mix your foundation with moisturizer for a natural finish. Add a wash of light eye shadow with a hint of peach on the cheeks, add kohl in the water line and on the lids, a thin liner with a slight wing to give the look a touch of tradition in case you are wearing a traditional or indo-western outfit. Complete the look by adding a n*de/light pink lip color, some mascara and touch up the brows, again keeping it natural. No Instagram brows please!
Evening Makeup Look By Prajwal
For the evening, just touch up your base makeup and go for dramatic eyes that is again not OTT. Just add some dark brown/black to the outer corners of the eye, apply a mascara that adds volume and lengthens the lashes, contour the face to add some dimension and apply highlighter for added shine. Change the lip colour from the n*de/neutral pink to a slightly deeper pink to brighten up the face. And that is it. You are ready to dazzle!
Do you see how easy it is to transition from a day to evening makeup look? Thanks Druna and Prajwal for your inputs and if you want to see more such looks on the blog, let me know in the comments below.
Druna is conducting a makeup workshop to teach the basics like smokey eyes, highlighting and contouring and the ‘no makeup look’ at a very nominal rate of Rs 1000. If you want to book your place, call her now for details.
