Do you know that Maybelline New York is out with a new range of Colorshow Creamy Matte Lipsticks priced at Rs 325? I was checking out the range at a New U store the other day and I was particularly drawn towards the shade, Mysterious Mocha. People who know me will be surprised because I almost never get attracted to neutral/n*de lipsticks. Not that I’m not fond of light colors but finding a good n*de is such a pain. I’m a NC 43.5 in MAC and most n*des wash me out and make me look sick. When I looked at Maybelline’s Mysterious Mocha, it was love at first sight and I somehow knew she would not let me down. And she hasn’t!

Bombay Brasserie, Quest Mall, Kolkata – Review
It took some time for joints like Irish House, Serafina and Bombay Brasserie to come to Kolkata but thanks to Quest Mall, we can now savor the goodness that these places cook up. I am a regular visitor to Quest and it’s restaurants but somehow I never ventured into Bombay Brasserie till a couple of weeks back. And after my meal, I was literally kicking myself for not going there earlier!
I loved the decor of the restaurant which from the outside looks like a European cafe. You would never guess that it actually serves Indian food. I like a restaurant to be spacious and Bombay Brasserie sure is. The dining space is large, there are antique cage like lighting fixtures and comfortable seating arrangements. They also have an enclosed dining space if you are looking for some privacy. Overall, the place looks classy yet homely and comfortable. Exactly the way I like it.
Gerard Cosmetics 1995 Lipstick – Review, FOTD
Remember the year 1995? Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge had released, I was a teen and madly in love with Raj a.k.a. Shahrukh Khan. That time, there were no multiplexes and going to the movies was not a regular affair so I watched it at home thanks to my local ‘cablewala’. DDLJ was the topic of discussion in school and we girls used to buy posters and swoon over SRK’s dimples and his Raj act. 1995 or rather the 90’s were also popular for another thing. The brown lipstick! Everyone used to wear it. Even Kajol in DDLJ wore mostly brown lipstick if you remember.
With the turn of the century, lip colors started to get bolder and brighter and brown was somehow relegated to being a ‘mom’ color. Fashion magazines advised against wearing brown as it would make one appear much older and so the reds, hot pinks and oranges had a field day. But as they say, old is gold and remarkably, brown made a stunning comeback primarily due to Kylie Jenner. In 2014, everyone was trying to do a Kylie Jenner lip and Gerard Cosmetics also got into the act of coming out with that perfect KJ lip color. The result? Gerard Cosmetics 1995 lipstick created in collaboration with popular Youtuber, Jaclyn Hill.
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask – Review
If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, you will know that I was part of a fun ‘Sleepover’ organised by The Body Shop a couple of weeks back. They sent me a huge box full of products needed for a good night’s sleep that included a pillow, eye mask, stress ball, hot chocolate and the star of the sleepover, the new Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. I tried out the mask that night and woke up to fresh, radiant skin the next morning. I’ve been using it quite regularly now and so, time for a review post.
