I can’t keep calm because Durga Pujo is here! In fact, I’m already done with one night of pandal hopping and looking forward to more over the next few days. If you are not from Kolkata or if you’ve never experienced Pujo here, it is kinda hard to explain what this festival means to us Bengalis. It is five days of celebration, adda, ‘notun jama pora’, ‘thakur dekha’, ‘khawa’ and ‘moja kora’. Sleep takes a back-seat and food is on top of the agenda. Everyone wants to look their best during Pujo and I am no different. I visited the Kama Ayurveda store in Quest Mall recently to ask for advice on what products I should use for my combination skin to make it glow this Pujo. Read on to find out what I was prescribed and my skincare routine.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream design just got revamped with a touch of Eley Kishimoto. The wife and husband duo’s designs have graced the catwalks of legendary designers like Louis Vitton, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen. Now, the ‘patron saints of print’ have restyled one of The Body Shop’s most iconic products. The playful print, in pink, blue and red is all about the letter “E”, as well as the chemical structure of the vitamin E molecule. The limited edition Vitamin E Moisture Cream is priced at Rs 1595 (100 g). Along with the cream, there is a limited edition pouch in the same Eley Kishimoto print available as well. That is priced at Rs 595 but you can get it free if you shop for Rs 3000 and above. Read on to know more about the cream and the Vitamin E range.
Nowadays, I find myself leaning more towards natural, organic and ayurvedic products for skin and hair care. We all know about the ill-effects of parabens and SLEs so I am trying to avoid them as much as I can. Recently, I was sent some products from the newly launched Ayurveda brand from Shesha Beauty, Ashtapathy, which has a range of coconut oil based shampoos and soaps.

Finally I bought a Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit! The world is obsessed with these but somehow I never got the “I need to have it” vibe from these products. That was until she dropped the June Bug Lip Kit ($30) in the 2017 Summer Collection.
June Bug is a vibrant orchid/purple color. I am in a purple obsessed lip color phase so anything remotely purple excites me no end right now. Hence this choice. Plus, the color also goes very well with our skin tone and it does not look too loud.
As with all Kylie Cosmetics lip kits, along with the matte liquid lipstick, there is also a lip liner in the same shade. The packaging is different from the regular lip kit packaging and looks more luxurious with all the gold.
Kylie Lip Kits are popular no doubt but these have not really got great reviews. Many people have said that the formula is very drying and some of the colors go on patchy. My experience with June Bug is quite good though. The lip liner is creamy and applies very well. The pigmentation is also very impressive.
The liquid lipstick is really good. The vanilla smell is a bit too strong but I quite like the formula. Pigmentation is brilliant and it applies very well. The lipstick goes opaque in one swipe and lasts for nearly 5-6 hours. It does get a bit drying after sometime though but nothing too uncomfortable. This is my first Kylie Lip Kit so I don’t have anything to compare it against but my experience with June Bug has been really good. Plus, the color is so rad. It immediately brightens up the face and every time I apply it, I get so many compliments!
