After three years of its launch in the US, Maybelline has finally come out with the Colorsensational Vivid range of lipsticks in India! Well, not all of them and the colors are also not exactly the same as what is available in the US but atleast we now have access to four lovely bright shades – Neon Pink, Scarlet Red, Rosy Orange and the one I bought, Violet Pink. These lipsticks are priced at Rs 475 each and I got mine from NewU.
Over the past couple of months, M.A.C has come out with quite a few new launches and since I have some products from these collections, thought I’d do a summer makeup look with all of them. If you are interested, read on and of course, share your comments and feedback below 😀
Radiant, glowing, luminous skin. Any product that claims to give this will guarantee our attention. And that’s why I was really curious to try out the new Lakme Absolute Perfect Radiance range. The brand claims that the products are enriched with micro-crystals and skin lightening vitamins that will give the skin a fresh and radiant glow everyday. The skin lightening part did not attract me at all because I’m more than happy with my dusky complexion. What attracted me was the micro-crystal bit. They are supposed to gently polish the skin to give a lustrous finish. I’ve been trying out three products from this range and sharing my thoughts about them in this post. Read on to know if this range works!

The other day I was at Shopper’s Stop checking out some clothes when I noticed a new display at the Revlon counter. Yes, the Ultra HD Matte Liquid Lipcolors are here and available in 8 shades. I had a mild heart attack when the guy at the counter said that these are priced at Rs 1195. My immediate reaction was WTH! I’ll just pay Rs 250 more and get a MAC lipstick. But again, the packaging and the shades looked pretty, this was a new range and they were also giving a CCD voucher for 6 free capuccinos or tropical icebergs to be redeemed over a period of three months. So, I went ahead and bought the shade Passion and technically paid around Rs 400 for the lipstick (6 Tropical Icebergs cost Rs 804 :D)
The packaging is quite fancy. The lipstick comes in a red pouch with the product name printed on it. The tube itself has a flat round shape (the Chambor matte liquid lipstick packaging is very similar) and there is a sponge applicator inside. When you open the cap, you will be hit with a very strong and synthetic vanilla milkshake type smell so be aware if you have a sensitive nose. I wish Revlon toned down the smell a few notches because it is just way too strong. Thankfully, the smell subsides in a few minutes.
