Here’s one fact about me that you guys don’t know. I started learning Rabindrasangeet at the age of five and continued till I was sixteen. Even though I left learning from a music teacher, Rabindrasangeet has and will always be an integral part of my life, pretty much like every Bengali’s. When I got to know of the Baadh Bhenge Dao concert organised by 92.7 Big FM to commemorate Rabindranath Tagore’s 154th birth anniversary and celebrate his music at G.D Birla Sabhagar on June 14th , I had to go. What made the concert special was the inclusion of renowned Bangladeshi artists Lily Aslam, Mita Huq and Joyita Huq along with popular Bengali artists Lopamudra Mitra, Rupankar Bagchi and Anindya Bose. The two nations although divided by boundaries and differences will always remain connected by one common thread – Rabindranath Tagore.
Thank you G.D Birla Sabhagar and 92.7 Big FM for organizing and inviting me to the concert. It was an evening very well spent. Here are some pictures.
