Tucked inside a quiet Ballygunge Place lane is Alla Bella Mozzarella, the newest Italian restaurant in town. My friends Poorna and Shikha were speaking very highly of this new restaurant so on Mother’s Day, I dropped in with my parents. It’s only been a couple of months since Alla Bella Mozzarella opened but the restaurant has already become really popular. We went in around 1 pm and only a few tables were available. Within 15 mins those got booked too and then, there were people standing outside waiting to get a free table. Queues in front of a restaurant can only mean one thing. Good food and yes, Alla Bella Mozzarella serves really good Italian food!
Summer Coolers & Ice Candies at Cafe Pranah
Chef Rahul Arora of Bon Appetit and Cafe Pranah has got to be one of the most creative and innovative persons I’ve met from the food industry. Every season, he comes up with special menus with interesting ingredients and combinations at both his cafes. This summer, to beat the heat, you can choose from a wide range of healthy and natural drinks and ice candies made from fruits, flowers and spices at Cafe Pranah.
The coolers are priced at Rs 139 each and available in six variants. If you like your drink to be sweet, go for Bel ka Panna, Gurhal ki Chai (iced tea made with fresh hibiscus flowers) or Panakka (made of jaggery, cardamom and elaichi). If you prefer tangy drinks, you will love the Kokum Sharbat, Lemon Barley Masala and the classic Aam Pora Sharbat. Don’t ask me to choose a favorite because I honestly can’t. All of them are very light, refreshing and the best part is that there is nothing artificial in these drinks. No essence, no food color, no preservative, nothing. What you get is 100% natural and therefore very good for you.

Aamlicious Festival at Khandani Rajdhani
Remember the Katrina Kaif Aamsutra ads and her expression of pure bliss while drinking from the bottle? If I was not in the company of so many people at Khandani Rajdhani last week, I would have given the same expression while drinking their famous Aamras. That pretty much describes how good it was right?
Khandani Rajdhani at Park Street (next to Park Hotel) is celebrating the arrival of the king of fruits with the Aamlicious Festival, on till 15th June. Every day, 2-3 ripe and raw mango dish will be included in their regular thali and the dishes will keep changing everyday. So one day you might have Kairi Chana Dal Dhokla or Mango Kofta Pulao and another day, you might get Kairi Samosa Sabzi, Malabari Mango Kadhi or Mango Pachadi. The majestic Aamras will remain a constant throughout the course of the festival.
