My fellow tech blogger Pradeep recently posted about how he wanted to make this Raksha Bandhan special by gifting his sister who loves clicking selfies, a Xolo Black smartphone. The phone looks so good and has lovely features for a very affordable price of only Rs 12,999. Pradeeep’s post reminded me of my love for smartphones and selfies and of course what comes to mind when I think of these two? Makeup, which is an integral part of clicking those beautiful selfies 😀
While Pradeep wanted something special for Raksha Bandhan, even I wanted something for the most awaited festival for us Bengalis, Durga Puja. The countdown has already started and less than 100 days are left for us to welcome Goddess Durga and her children to our homes. I don’t know how many of you have been in Kolkata during Durga Puja. If you haven’t, make sure you come atleast once to witness the extravaganza yourself. The city is at its best during those four days. There are pandals everywhere with the idols of the Goddess and her children, the city is lit up , those who stay abroad come home to be with their families, everyone looks beautiful wearing their new clothes and there is generally an atmosphere of gaiety and celebration.
During Durga Puja, everyone wants to look their best. New clothes, new makeup, new shoes, new accessories, new hair cut, a new look. Everything is centered around this festival for Bengalis. Like every year, this year I have plans as well and they involve ‘pandal hopping’ with my friends starting from the morning till night. The only problem if you are out whole day is to ensure your makeup looks fresh. I obviously cannot carry a ton of stuff around and I’ve been looking for a kit that has pretty much everything needed to ensure a quick touch up. And that kit is the Urban Decay Naked On The Run palette.
Since the time the palette came out, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this beauty. It’s got five eye shadows, one blush, one bronzer, one mascara, one 24/7 glide on eye pencil and one lip gloss. I just need this baby in my bag and I’m sorted for the entire day! And guess what’s the best part? I’m actually going to get my wish fulfilled of owning it! I was talking to my sister-in-law the other day and I was telling her about my Durga Puja plans. She asked me what I’m getting and I said that I’ve got my eyes on the Urban Decay palette. She immediately said that it would be her Durga Puja gift to me this year :D. So yes, wishes do come true. And I hope all your wishes get fulfilled too #AbHarWishHogiPoori!
