After a tiring week, there is nothing better than a relaxing time at the spa right? Thanks to The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and Heavenly Spa by Westin, I recently had a wonderful spacation at the hotel that left my mind and body truly relaxed and rejuvenated.

Heavenly Spa by Westin is the in-house spa at The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and they have a range of treatments combining traditional and global techniques. From massages to facials to hair and body treatments, the spa has everything that you need to pamper yourself with. Plus, they also have an in-house salon so all kinds of beauty services can be availed as well. 

When you enter the spa, the first impression is “Wow, this looks really luxurious”. The space is big and spread out, is tastefully decorated and the minute you enter, a feeling of peace and calm sets in. I was welcomed by the Spa Manager who showed me around and explained to me about the different treatments. I decided to go in for their Signature Aromatherapy Massage for 90 mins along with a head massage for some extra “Aaram” . Heavenly Spa has a wonderful little ritual where they ask you to choose between three different stones which has Love, Hope and Gratitude written on them. The concept is that whatever stone you choose will be placed on a bowl under the massage bed so when you face down during the massage, that is the word you see. A lovely way of using a positive affirmation. The word I chose was Hope :). 

Before starting off with the massage, I was advised to take a steam bath for about ten minutes because steaming before a massage helps to loosen the muscles and therefore the effect of the massage is better and long-lasting. After that, for an exclusive experience, I was taken to the couples room. This room also has a jacuzzi inside should anyone choose to use it. There is a bathroom, changing area and shower inside the room along with amenities like a robe, disposable underwear, comb, deo etc. 

The Signature Aromatherapy Massage experience was pure bliss. Heavenly Spa uses products from Tatha, a brand that makes aromatherapy, skin care, hair care, and body care products with natural ingredients and they smell heavenly. I had asked the therapist to pay special attention to the back of my neck and shoulders and as she worked on me with her expert hands, I could just feel the tension going away. The sign of a good, relaxing massage is if you sleep mid-way through one and I did that. Just hope I did not snore too loudly! 

I will highly recommend Heavenly Spa by Westin because they tick all the right boxes. They offer a luxurious experience that starts from the moment you enter, they have an extensive list of services on offer, the staff is experienced and well-trained, the spa is clean and hygienic and most importantly, for a 5-star hotel, their services are not exorbitantly priced. The treatments range from Rs 1500 – Rs 5000.
