Chatpata Rice With Kissan Sweet & Spicy Twist Sauce – Recipe

September 3, 2015

Kissan Sweet & Spicy Twist Sauce
Kissan Sweet & Spicy Twist Sauce

Kissan recently launched its new Twist range of sauces which includes two variants – Kissan Sweet & Spicy Twist that marries spicy red chilies with juicy tomatoes to create the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavor and Kissan Chilli Tomato Twist that is made with hot green chilies to give that extreme burst of spice. I was sent Sweet & Spicy Twist to try out and my mom came up with a very easy rice recipe using the sauce. We gave the name Chatpata Rice to the dish and I must say that it tastes really good! Giving the recipe below. It is super easy to make and does not require a number of ingredients. Do try it out and let me know if you like it. I will convey to mom 🙂

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups cooked Basmati rice kept in the fridge for 3-4 hours
  • 1 finely chopped large onion
  • 1/2 capsicum finely chopped
  • 6-7 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 cube cheese
  • 1/4 cup Kissan Sweet & Spicy Twist sauce
  • 1 Maggi chicken cube (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • Heat butter. Fry garlic and onion
  • Add onion, capsicum, chilli, cumin powder, chicken cube and fry for 2 mins
  • Add rice and Sweet & Spicy sauce and fry for 2-3 mins
  • Add grated cheese
  • Garnish and serve hot

This is a vegetarian version but if you prefer non-veg, you can add egg, chicken or sausages to the rice for extra taste. The veg version tastes really good too!
