On the first new moon day of the first Chinese lunar month, head over to Waterside Café and savour the taste of real Asia in all its glory. Start your New Year culinary expedition, the Chinese way, with an assortment of salads like Pao cai, Yu Sheng, Kimchee, Tofu with pakchoi, Fried lotus roots and leek salad, Chinese pickled bamboo-shoot, Mushroom and noodle salad with soy emulsion, Smoked chicken salad with Asian slaw, Fried shrimp and wonton salad, Pork meatballs in Schezwan mayo and orange dust, Tenderloin salad with red cabbage and scallion and língyúqiú (fish dumpling salad).
Move over to ‘The Chinese Street in India’ segment and enjoy a fusion of flavours in dishes like Fried Noodle chaat and Wonton sheet chaat. Add a dash of tang to your palate with special dips like szechwan chutney, cilantro chutney and pineapple tomato chutney. Enjoy soups like Tian mo- millet, peanuts, vermicelli, spiced tofu and spinach, Dùnjītāng-Stewed chicken soup or dig into Bāozi (steamed seafood stuffed bun), Gyoza (classical chicken dumpling) and Báicàijiǎo (cabbage dumpling) from the live Dim sum counter. Yauatcha
This January the Michelin-starred dim sum teahouse, Yauatcha, will honour the eminent colour red for Chinese New Year.For the occasion, Yauatcha will present two exclusive festive menus: the Chinese New Year Signature menu and the Supreme selection menu, which includes a special limited edition dim sum decorated in a vibrant palette of red, a red patisserie and a red cocktail. Both menus will be available from 16th January to 11th February, 2017.
To begin the celebrations, guests dining on the exclusive festive menus will be offered red beverages, non-alcoholic cocktail Tokyo Cooler or the Black River Martini. In Chinese culture, the colour red signifies good luck and joy and 2017 is the Year of the Rooster, symbolising fire and fortune.
Head Chef Wang Yixuan has crafted exclusive set menus; guests can opt for the vegetarian Chinese New Year Signature Menu or the non-vegetarian Supreme menu. The Chinese New Year Signature Menu features four courses starting with a selection of salad and small eats such as Mixed salad with lotus root or Truffle edamame dumpling, Mushroom roll with truffle. The wok dishes include Stir fry French beans with shiitake mushrooms and Szechuan Mabo tofu, Stir fry Ho fan noodles and Spicy Vegetable Fried Rice with taro root.
The Supreme menu commences with a selection of salad and small eats including the Prawn salad with mango, baked chicken puff and the limited edition red King crab and scallop dumpling. Wok dishes include Spicy wild prawn curry with onion and water chestnuts, Sliced lamb in black pepper sauce, Kung pao chicken accompanied with Stir fry Ho fan noodles and Egg fried rice with long bean.
The festive meals end on a sweet note, with the options of the Chocolate pebble (vegetarian), Luxe gateaux or a selection of ice creams.
The Chinese New Year menu and festive decorations will be in the restaurant from 16th January to 11th February 2017. The set menu is priced at Rs. 1500 plus taxes per guest. For a minimum of two people or more.
