In this post, I shared my initial thoughts on the new LeEco Le 2 smartphone. I have been using the phone extensively over the last couple of weeks and now, ready to write the review. However, let me first give a disclaimer. I am not a gadget guru or a tech blogger so I won’t really go into a detailed review of all the specs. I will share my thoughts on what I like or I don’t like about the phone from the point of view of a regular user.

I love the look of the Le 2. The rose gold full metal body with the sleek design is lightweight, very stylish and I think in this price range, it is one of the best looking smartphones out there. The Le 2 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage, which is again quite impressive for a phone in this price range. I prefer large screens and this one has a 5.5 inch screen and offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The color scheme works pretty well and the Full HD display is impressive. The screen brightness could have been slightly more though.
For us beauty and lifestyle bloggers, the camera of a smartphone is really important. The Le 2 has a 16 megapixel rear camera and an eight megapixel front camera that offers a range of filters and colour options . It also allows you to record 4K resolution videos. The camera captures very good images in well-lit conditions with clear and sharp image quality. However, in dim-light or night conditions, the performance is not as impressive.
Since I am a heavy internet user and practically live on the phone every day, the battery life of a phone is really important to me. Le 2 has a 3000 mAh- powered battery so even with heavy usage, including listening to music, watching videos, downloading apps etc, the charge lasts for more than a day. I also use a much more expensive phone along with the Le 2 and I have to charge it twice a day so yes, the battery performance is making me very happy. The phone also charges quite fast which is another plus point. The only issue is that there is a tendency of the phone to heat up while it is being charged.
The Le 2 comes with entertainment content worth Rs 4,900 free for a year. It comes with two apps – Le Live and Le Vidi. Le Live gives access to YuppTV’s catalogue of live TV channels and with Le Vidi, you get access to more than 2000 movies across various languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali and English. You do need a very high speed WiFi connection though to view all of this.
The Le 2 comes with Continual Lossless Digital Audio (CLDA) technology that has done away with the traditional 3.5 mm audio jack. The phone comes with a set of earphones and you also get an adaptor to connect to other earphones. The audio quality is very impressive and again, the performance is better than most high-end smartphones.
So, is the new LeEco Le 2 worth buying? I would say yes. It scores high on design, has a good battery life, clicks good pictures and videos, provides a lossless audio interface and gives entertainment content worth Rs 4900 free for a year. Most importantly, all of this is just at a price of Rs 11,999!
P.S – The phone is provided by the brand for review purpose but the views are my own.
