If you are following me on Facebook and Instagram, you will know that I spent last weekend in Mumbai attending Parachute Advansed Knowledge Centre’s Art of Oiling event. In today’s hectic lifestyle, we rarely spend time oiling our hair. When I was a kid, my mum used to religiously oil my hair at least twice a week but now, I can’t even remember the last time I did it. I’m sure that’s the case with pretty much all of us and the sad part is that we are ignoring the benefits an oil massage can give us. And that’s where Parachute has stepped in. In an effort to rediscover this fading art, Parachute Advansed Knowledge Center (PAKC) along with international massage expert Moses Chundi have developed a signature line of ‘Do It Yourself’ (DIY) massages. ‘Art of Oiling’ provides rejuvenation with quick & easy 10 minute massage techniques. Its benefits range from de-stressing, relaxing, energizing and adding an instant glow on the face!
Attending events is always a lot of fun and the best part is that I get to meet fellow bloggers with whom interaction is usually limited to social media. While I’ve met quite a few of them in earlier events, this time I got introduced to some new faces and I thank Parachute for giving that opportunity. The out of town bloggers were put up at Hotel Novotel in Juhu and what a location! I got a sea facing room and I just had to look out of my window to get a glimpse of the Arabian Sea in all its glory. Could not enjoy the view for long though. I reached the hotel around 2.30 p.m. and by 5, I was out for the event which was taking place at Villa 69 in Juhu. While the team was busy with last minute preparations, we bloggers utilised that time to chat, eat some starters and of course take a lot of selfies!
The event started with an introduction of what we should expect in the next two hours and then came Nargis Fakhri. My God, what a stunning woman she is. She looks way better in person than she does on screen. Her skin is flawless! Nargis introduced Moses Chundi, the man behind the DIY massages and also spoke about her association with the brand and her favourite massage techniques. Moses then went on to demonstrate the techniques and all of us had to do what he was showing, including Nargis. So basically, we oiled our hair at the event!
These are some of the massage techniques that we learnt (Will share a video demonstrating these really soon) .
- The Art of Office De-stressing
- The Art of Instant Energy
- The Art of Facial Glow
- The Art of Bridal Beauty
After the demo, it was time to click pictures with Nargis and it was so sweet of her to take selfies with everyone. No doubt she’s stunning but she’s also very grounded. No celeb ‘nakhra’ or attitude at all . I took pictures with her too but I look horrible in all of them :(. The Parachute team had set up a video booth for us to speak of our experience at the event and then all of us contributed towards creating a logo for the Art of Oiling. The event ended with cocktails and dinner.
I had a wonderful time at the Parachute Art of Oiling and I must thank Parachute for raising awareness about this dying art. I’ve promised to myself to oil my hair at least once a week from now and to diligently follow the techniques that were taught. You guys should also incorporate oiling and the massages in your daily beauty routine. Believe me, you can see the results instantly.
Here are a few pictures from the event.
