What I Bought From Boots in London

August 19, 2018

Hey pretties, how are you all doing? Remember this last haul post where I said that I will do another one pretty soon? Well, here it is and this one mostly focuses on the skin and hair products that I bought from Boots in London. As you know, Boots is a huge pharmacy chain in the UK and other countries and in the shops you get a pretty big variety of makeup, skincare, hair and other products from both drug store and high-end brands. There is a Boots store just next to where my office is in London and every day I used to go there after work to check out what new products have arrived. Want to see what I got? Read on..

My Boots Haul

Skin care products

Nivea MicelleAir Professional Makeup Removers for Face and Eyes – This range just launched when I was there last month and the description quite intrigued me. I’ve been a fan of Micellar water for a few years now and my favorite brands are Bioderma and Simple. I picked up these products because they are supposed to contain not only micellar water but also dry oil which should make removing waterproof makeup very easy. Also, they were available at a very good launch price.

Boots Tea Tree & Witchhazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion – The in-house range of skincare available at Boots is very good and their Tea tree & Witchhazel range I read is quite popular. Tea Tree is antibacterial and Witchhazel calms down skin so this product is supposed to deep cleanse and tone the skin and also fight acne and blemishes. I have been using it for a few days now and the product really works to make the skin squeaky clean.

Boots Tea Tree & Witchhazel Jelly Moisturiser with Berry Extracts – I needed an oil-free moisturiser to battle the extreme heat and humidity in Kolkata and this one seemed ideal. The range with berry extracts is new and this gel moisturiser is supposed to also give long lasting shine control and help prevent the appearance of spots. I’ve started using it and I love the refreshing formula and the fact that it keeps my skin hydrated for a long time without making it oily and greasy.

Hair Care Products

Aussie Deep Treatment 3 Minute Miracle – Everywhere in London I kept seeing ads of the Aussie Deep Treatment products and when I saw that they were available in Boots for a bundle pack of three for 10 pounds, I had to get my hands on them. I kept two products for myself giving away one – Moisture and Colour variant. These are basically deep conditioning hair masks that promise super smooth, silky and hydrated hair. I am using the Colour mask but I don’t really find it extraordinary. It is not bad and it does make my hair smooth but my ends still get dry and the mask does not seem to work on that very well.

Makeup Products

Rimmel Mascaras – Rimmel makes some of the best mascaras out there that are really affordable. I picked up two this time – Scandaleyes Wow Wings, a new launch and Volume Colourist with a lash tint colouring formula. Yet to use either of them and will let you know my feedback once I do.

Rimmel InstaFix & Go Primer & Setting Spray – I needed a setting spray and I did not want to spend a lot of money on one so got this Rimmel product which is supposed to be both a primer and a setting spray. Will share my review on it soon.

Till next time, Ciao.

My Big Shoe Haul

January 19, 2016

I’ve been on a shoe buying spree over the last few months thanks to all the wonderful sales that are going on. I tried very hard to resist but when you see shoes at 50 – 70% off, you do succumb. All of these I bought online except for the colorful juttis that I bought from Saras Mela held in December at Salt Lake. If you are interested to see what all I bought, read on 🙂

Haul Post – My new Eyeshadow Palettes

February 24, 2014

And thus begins the haul posts…Many of you know that I went to visit my brother’s family in Singapore last month and that trip made a major dent to my bank balance! The price of all products in Singapore is very high but I was on a vacation and went all out to get some of the things that I’ve been wanting for quite some time. In today’s post, I’ll show you the eye shadow palettes that I got recently that includes two I bought on my trip and one sent to me for review by the Born Pretty store (you can use the code DDH10 to get a 10% discount on your purchase from the site while checking out).

The star of my Singapore haul is definitely Urban Decay’s Vice 2 palette. I had actually wanted to get either Naked 1 or 2 but once my eyes laid on Vice 2, it was love at first site. The price at Sephora was 88 SGD which roughly translates to about Rs 4300. Definitely expensive but oh so worth it! I will post the review and swatches soon but here’s a first look at the palette.

Urban Decay Vice 2

Second, is the Limited Edition Sephora Enchanting palette which I bought primarily for its outer cover. Some of the colors are quite similar to Vice 2 but have you seen the packaging? That silver shimmer was way too enticing for me not to get. The price was I think around 35SGD (about 1700) and I think it was a good buy at that price. What say?

Lastly, here is the palette sent to me by Born Pretty Store. I have not heard about the brand before but I love the bright shimmery colors. And the pigmentation of these shadows is surprisingly very good. Will review very soon.

Danni 15 Colors Makhmali Eyeshadow palette

So those were the new eye shadow palettes that has gone into my collection. Detailed posts on each of them will be up soon. Which palette did you like the most? Do share in the comments below.

Korean Cosmetics Haul from Jolse.com

November 25, 2013

I recently discovered a wonderful website to shop Korean beauty products from and I thank Sangeeta of Lipgloss Affairs profusely for mentioning it. The website is http://jolse.com/ and there you can get a wide variety of products from Korean beauty brands like Etude House, Holika Holika, Missha, TonyMoly, Innisfree etc at very reasonable rates.

I have ordered from Jolse twice and there are quite a few reasons for me recommending it to all of you wanting to try Korean products:

1. They have a wide variety of products and brands to choose from
2. They have free standard international shipping (without tracking no) and send stuff via registered post so there is very little chance of the package getting lost. Also, no customs issues
3. They give free samples with every order
4. One can earn points with every order that can be redeemed later
5. They accept debit and credit card payment along with paypal

Now that I have established my love for jolse, lets take a look at what i hauled:

1. Etude House Hot Style Bubble Hair Color

2. Etude House Missing You Hand Cream (Isn’t this the cutest packaging ever? Btw it totally smells like Johnson’s Baby Lotion :D)

3. Etude House Magic Bubble Peeling Wash – This is like an exfoliator in a foamy texture

4. Holika Holika Pig-nose Clear Blackhead Peeling Massage Gel – This is really good stuff! Takes only a couple of minutes to peel away all the gunk from the nose!

Now the samples

I will be reviewing all these products in a few days time. Which one do you want me to review first? Do share in the comments below.

MAC and Inglot Mini Haul for Diwali

October 29, 2013

MAC is out with the Indulge collection and the only thing that got me interested was the eye shadow Divine Decadence. I read Temptalia’s review of the shade and loved the color a lot so had to get it for myself. Next to the MAC store in Kolkata is Inglot and I went in specifically to get their hottest selling lipstick shade – matte 421. This shade is always out of stock but thankfully this time the SA’s did not disappoint. Along with the lipstick, I also got a Color Play mascara in the shade purple. I love experimenting with colored mascaras and the purple one looked so pretty. I’ve already thought of a green smokey eye look with the purple so will show you that very soon. Meanwhile, take a look at the pics. Separate reviews will be posted soon.
