In 2013, we Kolkata beauty bloggers decided to move away from the virtual world of liking and commenting on each other’s blogs to finally meet in person. The venue was the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf outlet at Forum Mall and that was where I met Shikha of Sorelle Grapevine for the first time. My instant reaction on meeting her ? “Gosh, this girl is so pretty and has such flawless skin. Wonder what she uses?”. And seriously, she has the perfect skin! Shikha that day was reserved and quiet but something between us clicked (our mutual love for makeup and blogging was obviously a very important factor) and we, along with our 3rd musketeer Poorna, soon became very good friends or rather ‘Groupies’ as we call ourselves 😀
Classic Parisian Makeup Look
The inspiration behind this look is the awesome Lisa Eldridge. Last night, I was watching her do the same look in a video on the Lancome Youtube channel and I instantly wanted to recreate it. The classic Parisian look is all about fresh and luminous skin and a bold red lip. Even though this is the image that we all associate Parisian women with, in reality, they hardly wear makeup and that is what really surprised me when I was in the city last year. I mean the country is the hub of fashion and makeup trends but on the streets, I rarely saw anyone with lipstick or eye makeup on. I think I was the only one wearing makeup wherever we went!
Five Minute Fresh Makeup Look for Spring
Is there anyone else other than me who is glad that winter is finally saying adieu? I’m honestly tired of bundling up in woolens and blankets and really want to enjoy the lightness of summer. I’ll probably start cribbing about how hot it is very soon but till that time let me enjoy the onset of spring and the beautiful weather that is now in Kolkata.
