A smart leather bag will always be a classic. Back in the days, leather bags meant boring designs in either black, brown, cherry or tan but things have now changed. You can get leather bags in a host of colors, there are cool funky designs along with the more traditional ones and there are variations in textures as well. I recently came across ‘Ayushi’, a brand in Kolkata that makes really good leather handbags. Ayushi is headed by a young entrepreneur Ayushi Jalan whose family has been into leather handbags export for the last 25 years.

Colorbar Kiss Proof Lip Stain in Rustic – Review, Swatch, FOTD
You know how sometimes the first impression of a product is really great but then you use it a couple of times and realise that it really ain’t that good? That’s what happened with me and the new Colorbar Kiss Proof Lip Stain in the shade Rustic. Liquid lipsticks are the rage right now but Indian brands have not really caught on to this madness except Colorbar and now Faces. Colorbar has had liquid lipsticks for quite some time now and the Kiss Proof Lip Stains are their newest launch. I was checking out their counter one day and liked the shades particularly Rustic, a beautiful brick red color. The SA told me that they have a great formula, not drying and stays on for a really long time. I was sold, paid Rs 900 and came home with it.
Whenever I buy a new lipstick, I have to try it immediately and I tried Rustic as well. I found the packaging tacky but loved the pointed leaf-shaped applicator that made it so easy to get into all the corners, the color, the intense pigmentation and the weightless feel. I did not really wear it for too long that day so I did not get to test its staying power or whether it made my lips dry. Based on my initial impression, I also recommended the Lip Stains to quite a few people who were looking for Indian options for liquid lipsticks. After that day, I did not wear Rustic for a while but when I did wear for the purpose of testing, I was very disappointed. And these are my reasons :
- The liquid takes a lot of time to dry so anything that gets in contact with your lips after you put it on will have an imprint of your pretty pout
- Once dry, it stays put but after a while, it starts to get flaky and crumbly and finally, peels off. I’ve tested this both with and without using a lip balm first and the result was the same
- Does dry out lips but then all matte liquid lipsticks do so I’m ok with that. Not ok with the peeling off bit!
- It does not survive a meal. Even a light one. What’s worse is that the color disappears from the center leaving you with horrible uneven colored lips.
- It does not justify the Rs 900 price tag
Colorbar has some lovely lipstick formulas but the Kiss Proof Lip Stains definitely need improvement. The colors in the range are beautiful but the formula is a complete let down. I’m not buying anymore.
Have you tried any of the Colorbar Kiss Proof Lip Stains? What has been your experience?

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter and Body Scrub – Review
It started off like any other day. I woke up at 11.30 a.m ( I work at night) , checked the Fb, Instagram and Twitter notifications on my phone, brushed my teeth, washed my face and went downstairs to read the papers and drink my tea. I walk into the living room and what am I greeted with? A huuge box sent by The Body Shop! I open the box eagerly and I find two products from the newly launched Fuji Green Tea range along with some sachets of green tea, a cup, a glass kettle and a fan! I had tea with The Body Shop that afternoon and loved the pampering 🙂
The Body Shop has been coming out with some stellar products and the new Fuji Green Tea range, inspired by a Japanese tea ceremony is a refreshing departure from the usual floral and fruity fragrances associated with bath and body care products. There are seven products in this range created to refresh and detox the mind, body and soul! – Fuji Green Tea Exfoliating Soap, Body Scrub, Body Wash, Body Lotion, Body Sorbet, Body Butter and an Eau De Cologne. The Body Shop was generous to send me the Body Scrub and Body Butter and I love them! The fragrance is not purely of green tea. It is a mix of green tea and citrus fragrance which makes it very refreshing.
