The Body Shop Oils of Life Sleeping Cream & Eye Cream Gel Review

April 29, 2018

I really enjoyed using The Body Shop Oils of Life Facial Oil because of how light it was and how well it kept my skin hydrated. After using the oil, I was keen to try out other products from the Oils of Life range so I picked up the Sleeping Cream (Rs 2495) and the Eye Cream Gel (Rs 2395). If you want to know if the products work for me or not, read on for the review.

The Body Shop New Launches – Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask, British Rose Petal Toner & Ginseng and Rice Powder Wash

February 20, 2018

After launching a makeup line last month, The Body Shop is back with a number of new skin care products. Amongst them are the Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask, British Rose Petal-Soft Gel Toner, Chinese Ginseng & Rice Toner and Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Powder. Out of the four, I have three products sent to me by the brand and I’ve been trying them out every day for the last 1.5 weeks. Here are my initial thoughts on these new launches.

The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm Review

December 3, 2017

The Body Shop launched a bunch of new products last month and one of them is the Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm. And it is probably the first ever product that enhances the appearance of tattoos. Whether it actually improves the appearance I can’t say because I am not a #GirlWithInk but what I am is a #GirlWithVeryDrySkin and thankfully this product works on nourishing dry skin too. How does the new The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm fare? Read on to find out.

Packed with powerful natural origin oils and waxes, our Amazonian Saviour™ Multi-Purpose Balm helps to revive the appearance of tattoos, intensely nourishes severely dry skin and helps to improve the appearance of skin marks with a nourishing, 100% natural-origin formula.

The story behind this powerful product begins in the heart of the Amazon. For centuries, different societies in the Amazon have relied on powerful natural ingredients to nurture damaged and tattooed skin. Inspired by the Amazonian communities, our Amazonian Saviour™ Multi-Purpose Balm is made with just nine natural-origin ingredients.

Every sale of the Amazonian Saviour™ Multi-Purpose Balm will be used to help us build Bio-Bridges around the world, to support conservation and help communities to live more sustainably.

Review

As the name suggests, Amazonian Saviour is a multi-purpose balm that heals dry skin and can be used on the lips, body, cuticles and even on tattoos, stretch marks and scars.

The packaging is very attractive and credit for that goes to UK-based tattoo artist Saira Hunjan who designed the artwork. The texture of the balm is very similar to petroleum jelly. In fact, hard petroleum jelly. It does not have any fragrance, something I like.

Even though the texture of the balm is quite thick, it melts into the skin fast and absorbs easily. I’ve been using it mostly to moisturise my lips, hands, knees and elbows – the driest areas of my body. What I like is that it does not turn the skin oily and greasy and the moisturizing effect lasts for a long time. I’ve been using the product on some of my stretch marks and scars as well. Have not seen any improvement yet but I guess on those it will take some time to show results.

I have been carrying this compact tub in my handbag ever since I started using it and for this winter, The Body Shop Amazonian Saviour Multi-Purpose Balm is my best friend. If you have dry skin, definitely give it a try.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask Review

October 9, 2017

There is a new addition to The Body Shop’s Tea Tree range and this product ‘is specifically formulated to care for oily skin and imperfections while you sleep‘. The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask is priced at Rs 1995 (75 ml) and is a leave-on mask infused with tea tree oil and salicyclic acid to work on blemished and acne prone skin.

Sleep is one of the best treatments for the skin but if we can boost it with a sleeping mask, then so much better right? That is where The Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask comes into the picture. It is a leave-on mask so all one needs to do is just cleanse and tone skin, apply the mask all over the face and go to sleep. The mask has a light, bouncy, gel texture and it feels quite refreshing and soothing when applied (you can also store it in the fridge for an extra-refreshing and soothing sensation). It absorbs into the skin easily so there is no greasy, icky feeling and it does not stain the pillow!

I have been using the mask twice a week for a few days now and really liking the effect. Even though I don’t have acne-prone skin, I use it to prevent breakouts and in general, improve my skin’s tone and texture. When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks fresh and healthy. I’ve not seen any reduction in pores and blackheads yet but I’ve not had any breakouts either which I was expecting due to the non-stop eating and lack of sleep during Pujo.

If you have really oily skin and face the problem of breakouts, two other products I will recommend from the tea tree range along with the Anti-Imperfection Night Mask are the Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution and the 3 in 1 Wash Scrub Mask. I used the last two products extensively during summer and got great results. Click the link to read the review.

The Body Shop Drops Of Youth Liquid Peel Review

May 30, 2017

The Body Shop has added two new products to its Drops of Youth skincare range. One is the Youth Emulsion with SPF 20 and the other is the Drops of Youth Liquid Peel. If you have read this post, you will know how much I love using liquid peels on my skin. I prefer them over regular scrubs/exfoliators because peels are much more gentler on the skin and I feel they are more effective. I have been using the The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel for a few days now and here are my thoughts on the product.
