Maybelline New York’s Baby Lips range has been a big favorite of mine and I’ve tried every variant that has been launched till date. My favorite though will have to be 2015’s launch, Baby Lips Spiced Up, available in three flavors – Berry Sherbet, Tropical Punch and Spicy Cinnamon. And what’s great is that this range has been tailor made for Indian consumers only!
Garnier PureActive Neem+Tulsi High Foaming Face Wash – Review
A few days back, Garnier got in touch and informed that they were launching a new face wash in June and if I would be willing to test it and share my thoughts with all of you. I said yes and they sent me the new Garnier PureActive Neem+Tulsi High Foaming Face Wash. The product will be available in two sizes – 100 gm and 50 gm and priced at Rs 105 and Rs 60 respectively.
The Neem+Tulsi High Foaming Face Wash is primarily meant for oily and acne prone skin and is said to contain the goodness of two acne busters – Neem and Tulsi. Garnier claims that the product fights oil and removes 99.9% pimple germs. Now, touchwood, my skin is not acne prone but in summer, it does get slightly oily and I can see a few pimples popping up here and there. I’ve been using the High Foaming Face Wash for a few days now both in the morning and at night. I don’t know if it is due to the face wash but I’ve not seen any breakouts yet which is a very good sign.
My New Hair Color Courtesy Head Turners Salon & Groupon
I’ve lately been in the mood to do something different to my hair. Initially thought I’d go for bangs or cut it short but then I saw Marlena of Makeup Geek with her purple hair and I made up my mind. I wanted purple hair as well. And that is exactly when Groupon, one of the best sites to get excellent deals and discounts on products and services got in touch and offered me to try out any Spa or Salon service in Kolkata. Talk about perfect timing! I immediately said that I wanted to color my hair and they give me a really good deal at the Salt Lake Sec V Head Turners Salon & Spa outlet.
Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks Reb 01 & Reb 02 – Review, Swatches, FOTD
This Spring/Summer, it’s all about the pastels and these pastels are ready to rebel! Maybelline’s Summer 2015 collection is called Rebel Bouquet and consists of :
- The Color Sensational Rebel Bouquet Collection lipsticks
- The Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation
- The Dream Satin Skin Powder (Two Way Cake) and
- The Color Show Go Graffiti Nail Colors
From this collection, I’ve got a couple of lipsticks and three Go Graffiti nail colors. In this post, I’ll talk about the lipsticks REB 01, a beautiful red with very fine shimmer and REB 02, a bright pink.
- 6 new shades
- Flirty, edgy and fresh floral shades
- Pure pastel bright pigments
- Gives crisp and rick color
- Has color bloom technology with a honey nectar formula
- Texture of creamy and soft lips
- Price: Rs.450
Packaging – The normal Color Sensational square packaging with the red plastic cap and again, with no names. Why Maybelline??
Texture – Creamy, soft and goes on really smooth on the lips. They are well pigmented and a couple of swipes give good opaque coverage. Because of the creamy texture, they do transfer but they also do not dry out lips.
Finish – Glossy finish that give lips a plumped up look.
Staying Power – About 2-3 hours on me
Overall Thoughts – The colors that I have are really not pastel. One is a bright red and the other a bright pink. Both colors are beautiful, will look great on any skin tone and perfect for summer but there is nothing different about them. I would have liked to see some variety in the lipstick shades of this collection. Some of the Rebel Bloom lipsticks that Maybelline launched in the US were so pretty. In terms of quality, these are wonderful. Creamy and feels comfortable on the lips. Since I’m going through a major “I love gloss” phase right now, I’m loving the shiny finish. Wish they lasted for some more hours.
Out of the two shades I have, my favorite is REB 02 and I can see myself wearing it very often this summer. Which one did you like? And, did you get anything from the Maybelline Rebel Bouquet collection? Do share in the comments below.

MAC Isabel and Ruben Toledo Collection Lipglass Sin – Review, Swatch, FOTD
Forgive me father for I have sinned! I had pledged to stay away from makeup for at least a couple of months but MAC launched the Pencilled In & Isabel and Ruben Toledo collections back to back and I broke down :(. Well, that I guess will continue to be the story of life!
There was a lot of hype surrounding the MAC Isabel and Ruben Toledo collection and predictably, got sold out in Kolkata within days of its launch. Everyone went ga ga over the lipsticks and while all of them looked great, I was not too enthusiastic because the colors were nothing new. Same old reds albeit in a different very cool packaging. The only color I was interested in was Sin, a gorgeous dark blood red. All the bloggers said Sin was the worst of the lot in terms of texture but I had to have that stunning color so instead of the lipstick I picked up the Sin Lipglass (Rs 1600). The lipstick is permanent btw.
